One month ahead of the world climate summit in Paris, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, former Chief of Staff to President Barack Obama, will discuss the efforts his administration is mounting to make Chicago one of the world's leading sustainable cities.

On Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 5:30 p.m. CT, Mayor Emanuel will present "Chicago: America's Energy Hub – Powering Urban Revitalization." He will share his vision for the energy transformation that is taking place throughout Chicago, from streetlights to energy efficiency efforts and the launch of microgrids.
Mayor Emanuel was a key driver in the development of UI LABS and will offer insight into this research and commercialization collaborative that is bringing experts together to deliver solutions to future challenges.
"Chicago is proving that growing our economy and making our city more sustainable is not a zero-sum game," Mayor Emanuel said. "Instead we are making our economy stronger, our neighborhoods healthier, and our city more sustainable all at the same time."
ComEd President and CEO, Anne Pramaggiore, opens the conference on Thursday, Nov. 5, where she will speak about how the company's leading Smart Grid program is laying the groundwork for the next wave of transformation featuring Smart City technologies, Smart Neighborhoods other initiatives designed to meet the demands of the 21st century digital economy.
