Justifying Utility Security Investments

Justifying Utility Security Investments

Wednesday January 11, 2017  12PM EST/9AM PST

Demonstrating the business value of security investments, particularly those that go beyond regulatory requirements, can be a significant challenge. The challenge is that security investments cannot be quantified using the traditional return on investment equation where drivers, such as revenue growth and cost savings, are easily measured. Rather, security investments must be viewed through the less intuitive lens of risk mitigation and cost avoidance.

This webinar provides an overview of how a large, northeastern electric power utility was able to:
•    Quantify its risk
•    Develop a financial efficiency model to justify security/risk investments
•    Use risk metrics to create a meaningful, organizational dialogue about risk management
•    Create and implement an effective risk framework to guide and justify security investments
