This year's Renewables Rush executive briefing put the spotlight on Mexico, with the presence of Mexico Energy Commissioner Hon. Guillermo Zúñiga and representatives from California's commissions. Mexico has recently revamped its energy markets system and is poised to launch a massive energy infrastructure buildout that will prompt energy companies and entrepreneurs around the world to take notice.
The common thread throughout the day was that California is the example for Mexico and other countries in its goal setting and resource planning. Several factors must be considered as states and nations move toward a higher proliferation of renewable energy as a power source, including reliability, capacity and sustainability.
